Govt may change petrol  price by decrease of  Rs -2.15 per litre for next fortnight starting from 1st September. However, now the price of petrol kept at  Rs264.61 with no change for the next fifteen days. the officially new price of petrol by the decision of Government and Oil and Gas regulatory authority will be come into effect from 1st September 2025

According to  the news it is reported that a substantial increase in the prices of petrol which  will be anticipated for the fortnight commencing from 1st September 2025 which is as per a forecast by Management citing data from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.

In the previous 1st August 2025 review the government had decreased the price of petrol by Rs7.54 per liter bringing it down to Rs264.61 per litre and the ongoing price of petrol from 16 August 2025 remains the same with no change in it and priced at Rs 264.61 per liter.

Government may provide some Relief from September 2025

Petrol rates remained elevated from the last two months in Pakistan post-budget taxation and due to global uncertainty. But there is some relief  from August 16 August 2025 as petrol prices remain the same and diesel prices drop by -12.84 per liter and it is now again expected that petrol price will decrease by -2.15 per liter and will be priced at 262.63. 

As Pakistanis are paying Rs264.61 for petrol, the numbers are likely to drop for next fortnight, sources familiar with development said. The much-needed breather may finally be on the way, as the PML led coalition government may cut petrol prices by up to Rs2_3 per litre. After the latest update, petrol price is expected to come down which would bring the new petrol price down from the current Rs264.61 to approximately Rs262.63 per liter which reflects an approximate cut of Rs 2.15.
