Expected petrol price increase
As the problem in the south Asia due to middle east it is expected that petrol and diesel will now again increase in the month of July .it is expected that Petrol price are likely to increase upto Rupees 20-25, taking the rate from Rs 258.43 to Rs 279.92 which reflecting an 8.3% upshift, and the diesel price is likely to go up 20 to 22 Rupees which takes up rate from Rs 262.59 per liter to Rs 290.43 per litre .Global prices also changed as the US crude jumped 2.7pc to $75.80 per barrel, while Brent moved up 2.44pc to $78.88.
Levy on Petrol price
As of the budget 2025 -2026 the carbon levy on petrol and diesel is increased and introduced a new Carbon Levy of Rs2.5 per litre on petrol, diesel, and furnace oil and it will be rising to Rs5 in 2026-27. and this price is expected from July and the increase to the existing petroleum levy development of Rs 78 on the fuel which is petrol and Rs77 on diesel.
